Treatment is not suitable in patients who are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you are undergoing IVF treatment.
Once you are deemed suitable to have the treatment, the injections are given in clinic by a Doctor. Tiny amounts of the product will be injected directly into the muscles that are responsible for contraction using an ultra-fine needle. The injections are virtually painless, so no anaesthetic is needed, and they are completed in a couple of minutes.
There is minimal downtime with botulinum toxin injections, in fact, it is possible to have this treatment in a lunch break and return straight back to work.
The risk of side effects is also low. However, as with any injectable treatment, some clients may experience mild localised bruising, redness or swelling at the injection site.
